TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries) of Turkey has qualified for the last 2 contestants in UAV tender held by the Indonesian Ministry of Defense. It is reported that TAI seems to be very close to win the tender to realize its first exportation of ANKA unmanned aerial vehicles to Indonesia.

The company which submitted its bid to Indonesia Air Force Command or 2 systems of 6 vehicles in total qualified for the last 2 out of 4 competitor companies.

The Indonesian Ministry of Defense had started the international procurement process for the supply of UAV systems on June 28 and TAI had submitted its proposal on August 24th.

At the Indo Defense 2018 Fair in Jakarta, which was held on November 7-10, only ANKA was exhibited among the systems that participated in the tender. This was interpreted as a very clear indication of the importance attributed to the cooperation desired to be built by the Indonesian authorities.

It is reported that under the leadership of ANKA there is a strong possibility of reflecting the potential for cooperation in the aviation field, especially in in other projects to be realized in Indonesia as well, in the future.

This is considered as a positive, long-term and win-win business model by Indonesian decision-makers who want to develop their own industry and reduce their dependence on foreign markets and address global markets.
