US dollar – Turkish lira rate climbs up to 8.93, breaking all-time record

US DOLLAR TL RATE BREAKS ALL TIME RECORD

The dollar, which rose after the market close, rose to 8.9334 to break new record. The euro/dollar parity saw the lowest levels of 2021 as the US dollar rose again.

The euro/TL, which saw the lowest intra-year level in the third week of August last year with 1.1665, also fell below these levels today. Thus, the intra-year lows in the euro/dollar pair were withdrawn to 1.1651. The rate had last seen these levels in early November, last year.

The US Dollar is also at the peak of 10 months

The rise in the US dollar against TL continues. The US Dollar Index also rose to 93.99 today, seeing its peak after November 4. The index, which gained 1.5 percent on a monthly basis, has had a total gain of 4.5 percent this year.

The dollar/TL rate breaks record

The dollar/TL parity, which was around 8.86 – 8.87 during the day, rose after the market close. The dollar which rose to TL 8.9334 in the evening, is trading at TL 8.9334, up 0.57 percent as of 20.24 hours. At the same time, the euro/TL pair is trading at the level of 10.3613, down 0.13 percent.

The dollar was at 8.65 last week before the Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Board cut the policy rate by 100 basis points.
