“Verified Listings System” coming to car sales as well

Deputy Minister of Trade, Mahmut Gürcan, announced that the verified listings system, implemented for real estate, would soon be introduced for automobile sales as well.

Gürcan stated that the verified listings system would become mandatory at the beginning of the year. He explained, “Before a person can post a real estate listing on an e-listing site, they will need to select their property through the e-Government portal, and then provide authorization by entering the real estate agent’s information. We are now implementing the same system for automobiles.”

Speaking at the “Automotive and Energy Vision for the Century of Turkey” meeting organized by MÜSİAD at the Selçuklu Congress Center, Gürcan mentioned that the global economic slowdown, exacerbated by the pandemic, had impacted Turkey. Despite this, Turkey’s economy continued to make strides in production, employment, and exports, achieving uninterrupted growth over the last 16 quarters. In 2023, the country achieved a growth rate of 5.1%.

Progress for Car Sales

Gürcan emphasized the introduction of identity and authorization verification requirements for listing platforms. “We have ensured that listings posted on sites are by individuals whose Turkish ID numbers have been verified and by authorized companies. This system for real estate came into effect recently and will be fully implemented by the beginning of the year. Right now, it is running in a hybrid format. Sellers can now select their property via the e-Government portal before posting it to a listing site and provide authorization by entering the real estate agent’s details.”

He added, “We are applying the same system to automobiles. Soon, individuals will be able to list their vehicles for sale by accessing the e-Government portal. This project is nearing completion and will come into effect in the coming months.”
