Warning from members of British Scientific Council: New variant will kill a third of the people it infects

Opposing British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who decided to lift the Covid-19 bans, members of the British scientific council warned that the next variant could kill a third of the people it infects.

It turned out that a report was submitted to Johnson by members of the British Science Board (SAGE), while British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to announce today his decision to lift restrictions that have been in place for about 2 years as part of his “strategy to live with Covid-19”.

According to Turkish media, members of the scientific council scientifically announced that new variants of Covid-19 could cause a large number of deaths.

“It is only lucky of us that the Omicron variant is lighter. However, the authorities cannot pretend that the virus has disappeared” the statement said. “The early lifting of Covid-19 restrictions could lead to a new and more deadly variant” the prepared report also noted.

The report, prepared by members of the scientific council, said: “Restrictions should remain in place as the long-term effects of Covid-19 and future variants are not yet known. The next Covid-19 variant could kill a third of the people it infects.”
