Warning from Meteorology: Temperatures to drop, rainy weather to return

Turkey is entering a new period of rainy and cold weather. It is expected that temperatures will decrease starting from the middle of the week, beginning in the western regions along with the precipitation.

According to the latest forecasts by the Meteorology General Directorate, today, the southern and eastern parts of the country are expected to be partly to mostly cloudy, while the inner parts of Western Mediterranean, Eastern Mediterranean, Eastern Anatolia, Eastern Black Sea, and the western coast of Antalya and Tokat regions will experience rain, with other areas being partly cloudy with few clouds.

The expected rain in the southeastern parts of the country, which is expected to be strong, will generally be in the form of rain and showers, while the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the northern and eastern parts of Eastern Anatolia are expected to see a mixture of rain and snow, with snowfall.

Over the next 5 days, precipitation is expected in almost all parts of the country. Precipitation is expected to be in the form of a mixture of rain and snow in the inner parts, and rain and showers in the coastal areas.

Temperatures, which have been around or slightly above seasonal norms, are expected to decrease from the middle of the week starting from the western regions.

Throughout the week, the highest temperatures of the day are expected to drop to around 6 degrees Celsius in Ankara, 9 degrees Celsius in Samsun, 11 degrees Celsius in Istanbul and Diyarbakir, 16 degrees Celsius in Izmir, 17 degrees Celsius in Adana, and around 19 degrees Celsius in Antalya.
