WATER DISTRIBUTION IN BODRUM

Due to a water shortage in the Bodrum district of Muğla, the municipality is providing water to homes using tankers. Bodrum Mayor Ahmet Aras stated in a written statement that the recent water shortage in the district was due to the closure of the dams that supply water to Bodrum.

Aras mentioned that they had been making efforts to supply water to the residents from various water wells in Bodrum. He explained that requests received at the Bodrum Municipality Call Center were recorded by the relevant departments, and water was being delivered to households in an organized manner. Aras also stated, “We will continue our water supply services with a total of seven vehicles.”

It was reported that between August and October, a total of 2,432 tons of water were delivered by tankers to 915 households in various neighborhoods of Bodrum.

The General Manager of the Muğla Water and Sewerage Administration, had previously announced that due to the water levels in Mumcular and Geyik dams, which supply water to Bodrum, reaching a critical low, new underground wells would be drilled to secure water resources.
