“Which Mediterranean destinations did the British travel to the most in 10 months?

While travels from the UK to Mediterranean destinations have been on the rise, Turkey became the fifth most visited country.

According to an analysis based on data from the UK Civil Aviation Authority, overseas air travel from the UK to the Mediterranean showed an 18% increase, reaching 101 million during the first 10 months of 2023.

According to Tourism DataBank, air travel from the UK to destinations worldwide increased by 24%, surpassing 206 million.

In terms of overseas travel from the UK to Mediterranean countries, Spain ranked first with a 37.4% share, followed by Italy with a 12.6% share, France with a 9.8% share, and Greece. Turkey and Portugal, with their market shares remaining the same during this period, showed approximately 18% improvement in the number of travels, with shares of 9.1% and 7.7%, respectively.

Southern Cyprus, Czech Republic, and Egypt also experienced growth, while Morocco and Tunisia set records with a 75% increase each. Outside the Mediterranean, the UAE led its region during this period with a 32% increase and a 2.8% share.”
