Director of the European Region of the World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. Hans Kluge announced that 36 million people in the European region might have had long-term Covid during the 3-year epidemic.

At a press conference held over the Internet on June 27, World Health Organization European Director Dr. Hans Kluge emphasized that Covid-19 caused about 1000 deaths per week in the WHO region, although the public health emergency had been lifted worldwide, noting that about 36 million people might have had long-term Covid in the first 3 years of the epidemic.

‘NOT RECOGNISED ENOUGH’

According to the DHA, Kluge stated that some healthy choices in daily life would help fight subsequent epidemics and said, “Those of us who have the opportunity, for example, can exercise moderately for 25 minutes a day, quit smoking, the less alcohol intake the better, and limit salt intake. Long Covid remains a complex situation that we still know very little about.”
