Cavusoglu said in his statement, “We said the meeting of Foreign Ministers could be in the second half of January. The address may be Moscow or a third country.”

THE FIRST CONTACT AFTER 11 YEARS

The first high-level contact between Turkey and Syria after 11 years had taken place recently. Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar had met with his Syrian counterpart Ali Mahmoud Abbas in Russia as part of the trilateral meeting.

PRESIDENT ERDOGAN: “WE WANT TO TAKE A TRIPLE STEP”

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, had made the following statement on the plane after his visit to Turkmenistan,: “As of now, we want Syria-Turkey-Russia to take a step as a trio. For this purpose, first of all, let our intelligence organizations come together, then our defense ministers will come together, then our foreign ministers will come together. After the talks they have held, let’s come together as leaders. I also offered this to Mr. Putin. He also looked at it positively. Thus, we will have started a series of negotiations chain.”
