Because the authority has fixed the “Revaluation Rate” as 122 percent for 2023, many fees, penalties and taxes such as motor vehicle tax, property tax, driver’s license fee, passport fee, red light violation have increased. The hikes will be effective from today.

It became clear how much increase in taxes and fees was made in the new-year with the communiqués published by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance in the Official Gazette for the last two days. Accordingly, taxes and fees were increased by the revaluation rate (YDO), which was announced as 122.93 percent. The President, on the other hand, used the reduction authority related to this ratio in some taxes.

Within the scope of passport fees, the figure for those with a period of more than 3 years increased from 1478 liras to 3 thousand 295 liras. The driver’s license fees were increased from 370 liras to 826 liras for the ”A class“ and from 1116 liras to 2 thousand 490 liras for the ”B class”. 83 Liras will be paid for the replacement for the identity certificate.

On the other hand, increases in property tax and motor vehicle tax were announced at 61.5 percent. Accordingly, for example, the highest motor vehicle tax (MTV) for cars with 1300 engines, 1-3 years old and up to 114 thousand liras was 2 thousand 120 liras, and MTV for 1300-1600 engines with the same conditions was 3 thousand 693 liras. The rental income exception amount increased from 9 thousand 500 liras to 21 thousand liras.
