The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) has reported that the demand for investment in electricity storage has exceeded $ 230 billion.

According to the statement made by the EPDK, following the amendments to the secondary legislation published in the Official Gazette dated November 19, 2022, the EPDK began to receive applications within the scope of storage electricity generation.

Investors who undertake to build a storage facility can apply for a pre-license to the EMRA without any competition by Turkish Electricity Transmission Inc. (TEIAS) to build wind and solar power plants up to the storage capacity.
