Yellow Alert for 8 Provinces: Heavy Rain and Snow Expected Across Turkey

The Turkish State Meteorological Service has issued a yellow weather alert for eight provinces as widespread rain and snowfall are expected across large parts of Turkey on 11 February 2026. The country will be mostly very cloudy, with intermittent precipitation affecting the Aegean, Mediterranean, Eastern Black Sea, Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia, along with several inland provinces.

Rain and showers will be the dominant form of precipitation, while snowfall and mixed rain–snow are expected in higher elevations, particularly in Eastern Anatolia, the inner Eastern Black Sea region, and around Sivas. Locally heavy rainfall is forecast in Osmaniye, Hatay, Ardahan, Bitlis, Hakkari, Şırnak, Diyarbakır, Batman, Siirt, and the inland parts of Artvin.

Istanbul Weather Outlook

Istanbul is expected to experience partly to very cloudy conditions throughout the day. No significant rainfall is forecast for the city, and temperatures will remain mild, around 10°C, staying above seasonal averages. Overall, Istanbul will avoid the severe weather affecting other regions.

Muğla Weather Outlook

Muğla will see intermittent rain and showers, particularly during midday and nighttime hours. The weather will be partly to very cloudy, with temperatures around 13°C. While conditions may disrupt outdoor plans, no extreme weather warnings have been issued specifically for the city.

Antalya Weather Outlook

Antalya is forecast to be partly to very cloudy, with scattered showers starting from midday. Temperatures will remain relatively warm at around 18°C, continuing to sit above seasonal norms. Rainfall is expected to be intermittent rather than persistent, but caution is advised during heavier showers.

Temperature and Wind

Air temperatures will rise by 3 to 5 degrees in northern and western regions, including Istanbul, while remaining largely unchanged elsewhere. Nationwide, temperatures will stay above seasonal averages. Winds will generally blow from southern directions, with strong winds (40–60 km/h) expected along the coastal Aegean.

Warnings in Effect

Heavy rainfall may lead to flooding, landslides, and transportation disruptions in the warning areas. Strong winds are expected along the Aegean coast, and avalanche risk remains high in snow-covered mountainous regions of Eastern Anatolia and the inner Eastern Black Sea.
