Zafer Party announces decision to support KILICDAROGLU in second tour presidential election
Four days before the election, support for the alliances began to become clear. Nation Alliance candidate Kemal KILICDAROGLU and Zafer (Victory Party) leader Umit OZDAG made a statement on live TV. Özdağ officially announced his support for KILICDAROGLU.
The developments turned out to be confusing after Sinan Ogan, the presidential candidate of the ATA Alliance established under the leadership of the Victory Party, decided to support Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the presidential candidate of the People’s Alliance, in the second round.
After the increasing diplomatic traffic on the developments, Nation Alliance presidential candidate and CHP leader KILICDAROGLU and Victory Party Leader Umit Ozdağ, who met in Hatay last evening and agreed on a seven-point memorandum of understanding, made a joint statement.

KILICDAROGLU said, “We held a very valuable and productive meeting. We talked about the transition to a strengthened parliamentary system in order for Turkey to have a safer future. Turkey should expect to see beautiful days.”
“WE CAN’T FIND JOBS FOR OUR CHILDREN”
Özdağ, who delivered a speech after KILICDAROGLU, said the following:
“The most important problem of Turkey is the repatriation of 13 million asylum seekers and fugitives to their homeland. It is impossible for Turkey to overcome its economic problems without sending these 13 million back to their homeland and preventing the arrival of new ones with determined policies.
We cannot ensure that Turkish people buy real estate by spending 11 billion dollars a year, selling citizenship, and we cannot find jobs for our children. A country cannot put its economy and security on the right line with 13 million asylum seekers. Therefore, on the way to May 14, we asked the Turkish people for support to send the asylum seekers back to their homeland. However, the embargo prevented us from having enough access to our citizens.
Mr. KILICDAROGLU said the asylum seekers should return to their homeland. As the Victory Party, we have decided to support Mr. KILICDAROGLU in the second round. Best wishes.

“My appeal to all voters who voted for the People’s Alliance in the first round, voted for the Nation Alliance and the ATA Alliance is this: if you want to hand over this country (Turkey) you took from your mothers and fathers to your children, if you don’t want to worry when your daughter goes out on the street, if you want to be able to send your son safely to the grocery store at 21.30 in the evening, support the policy and politicians who will send 13 million asylum seekers to their homeland in the elections to be held on May 28, and vote for KILICDAROGLU. This is the only way for your country not to become a heaven for immigrants.”
After the end of the interview, Ümit Özdağ shared a photo from his Twitter account and used the following statements: “Turkey will not be an immigrant country. On May 29, 2023, the Turkish people will begin to take back their country.”
PROTOCOL SIGNED BETWEEN THE TWO PARTIES
The text of the memorandum containing the Decrees agreed between the two parties after the meeting is as follows:
“This protocol covers the principles of cooperation between the Victory Party and the Components of the National Alliance, which will be carried out during the Presidential Runoff election and the subsequent period..”
Noting that Victory Party Chairman Umit Özdağ and Kemal KILICDAROGLU met yesterday and agreed on a seven-point memorandum of understanding, journalist Saymaz said that two figures from the Victory Party would take an active role in effective migration and security policies.
