NEW METRO LINES IN ISTANBUL

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, who participated in the test drive on the Yildiz-Fulya-Mecidiyekoy metro line that will connect Beşiktaş to Şişli underground, gave good news to Istanbulites. Imamoğlu informed the public about the work with a live broadcast from his social media accounts before the test drive that would start from Yıldız Station.

The mayor participated in the test drive carried out on the Yıldız-Fulya-Mecidiyeköy line, which is a continuation of the Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey metro line. Besiktas Mayor Riza Akpolat and Şişli Mayor Muammer Keskin also accompanied Imamoğlu during the line inspection passing through the districts they manage.

Imamoğlu gave information here and said the following: “We will get on the subway from YILDIZ at a depth of about 75 meters below the ground. We will pass through the Fulya stop and from here we will go to Mecidiyeköy. It’s a very important line. As you know, we opened the Mahmutbey-Mecidiyeköy line. But the excavation related to the aftermath of Mecidiyeköy, especially in Besiktas Square, has been going on for about 6.5 years. Now we are speeding up the process there, but since there will be a delay, we have made a more practical move there. Bypassing there, we are continuing to work towards Kabataş. Hopefully, we will connect YILDIZ directly to Kabataş in the first quarter of 2024. We will definitely share the processes related to archaeological excavations with our citizens.
