ISTANBUL_PARK2011 Formula 1 Turkey Grand Prix  is going to take place in Istanbul on May 6-8

The racing circuit is in Tuzla, Tepeören and spreads over an are of 2.215.000 sq.mt. Herman Tilke, the architect of the project, designed the racing circuit as running counter-clockwise and it is 5.378 km long with an average width of 15 meters, excluding runoff areas. The circuit is composed of 14 curves, 6 of which are right turns while the remaining 8 are left turns. The circuit runs over four level sections with rising and descending grades. The maximum vertical slope is 8.145%. The expected maximum speed is 320.58 km/hour and 124.000 rubber barriers are used for the security of the circuit.

In scope of the project there are two underpasses which connect the highway and secondary roads and three overpasses and two underpasses for the pedestrians.

The main buildings are the Paddock/Pit buildings, main grand stands and service buildings. The main grand stand have seating capacity of 30.000 spectators. In addition, the temporary stands and general admission (lawn) areas will provide a total capacity of over 155.000 spectators.

Moreover two-story race control tower, pit areas, terrace and health center, four heliports are among the facilities. An area of 45.000 sq.mt. just behind the main building is planned to be used as shopping mall.

Media center has a capacity to serve to 600 press members.
