It was announced that the treatment of 26 patients, including 8 in intensive care, was continued in Yuva village of Bolu, where cases of water poisoning have continued since Eid al-Adha.

Abdominal pain, nausea and bloody diarrhea were observed in most children in the Çaydurt Neighborhood of Yuva village, starting from the last day of Eid al-Adha. According to the initial determinations, it was determined that the children and adults who were taken to the hospital were poisoned by the water. As a result of the tests, an intestinal infection was observed in children, in some patients, kidney failure began due to diarrhea. The patients whose condition worsened were taken to hospitals in other cities. According to the latest figure, a total of 141 people were poisoned. it was reported that the treatment of 26 patients, including 8 in intensive care, continued after poisoning cases in which 1 person died.

Governor’s statement

Bolu Governor’s Office made a statement on the claims that new cases appeared in the village. In a statement made by the governor’s office, it was stated that 1 person applied to the hospital with similar complaints, but not mains water, but unregistered artesian water found in the garden of the house.

The statement also said: “As of August 9; 18 of our citizens are in the services, 8 of our citizens are in intensive care, a total of 26 of our citizens continue to be treated in our health institutions.”
