A big hike in cigarette prices in Turkey: “Smoking is dangerous for health” :)

After the 6 monthly inflation figures of TURKSTAT, the expected increase in cigarettes came with the new ÖTV (Special ConsumptionTax).

Following the announcement of the inflation data of TURKSTAT, the rate of the excise duty increase on alcohol and cigarettes was also announced. The automatic increase in excise duty amounts was 22.29 percent.

Özgür Aybaş, the President of the Monopoly Dealers Platform (TBP), announced a hike in cigarette prices on his social media account.

Aybaş shared on his Twitter account, “Cigarette hike, good luck, there was a 4 TL hike.”
