Speaking in a meeting today President Erdogan of Turkey signaled that he would meet with Syrian President Assad. Erdogan said: “As Russia, Turkey, Syria, we have started a process. We will meet as leaders according to the developments,” he said.

Referring to the telephone conversation with Russian President Putin that he had held today, Erdogan announced that he would also meet with Zelenskiy: “I talked to Mr. Putin this morning. We talked about what we could do in the region. We will meet as leaders after our ministers about the developments in Syria. Our concern is to make peace prevail in the region. I will have a meeting with Zelenskiy today. We will discuss our meeting with Putin and how we can put Russian-Ukrainian relations on a softer footing.”
