A downpour hits Mugla: Homes and businesses flooded

Strong downpours and hail in the Bodrum district of Muğla has affected the life in the area, negatively. Businesses and homes were flooded, while citizens were evacuated. In the last 12 hours, 41.5 kilograms of precipitation fell per square meter in the center of Bodrum and 82.8 kilograms in the Turgutreis Neighborhood.

The 4th Regional Directorate of Meteorology issued a strong rainfall warning for the southern districts of Muğla. After the warning, showers and hail were effective especially in Bodrum district. Houses and businesses were flooded in the Yalikavak Neighborhood. Police teams also helped citizens in flooded workplaces. In the city center and the Turgutreis Neighborhood, there were also heavy puddles on the streets and streets, police teams controlled the flow of traffic.

ALL-NIGHT INTERVENTION

Due to the precipitation, which was effective throughout the night, fire crews carried out evacuation work in flooded areas. Fire crews rescued 2 people who were trapped in a vehicle due to heavy waterlogging in Bahçelievler Neighborhood. Crews responded to flooding at 10 workplaces, 2 homes and 22 gardens overnight. The streets turned white due to hail, which was effective for a short time.
