DRONE LIFEGUARD ON SEA

“The drone lifeguard” period has begun on the Mediterranean coast. In Antalya, drowning cases are intervened with a lifeguard drone. The device, which is used for the first time in Turkey, shortens the intervention time considerably.

IT IS USED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TURKEY

The device, which is used for the first time in Turkey, takes off for those who are in danger of drowning. The location of the person in danger is determined by the drone’s camera.

The device intervenes in a drowning case by carrying a life jacket to the area in a short time.

IT CAN INTERVENE EVEN IN BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality officials has given the following information about the use of the device:

“It can take a life jacket that we attach to the trigger mechanism to the drowning person or the person who needs it at that moment. We can follow the person via camera on the device and it delivers the jacket to the person in danger. If it falls into the sea, we have a drone that can get up again ready for duty, both under the supervision of ships and marine vehicles, and also able to intervene in drowning cases under very bad weather conditions.”

The device, which significantly shortens the time for intervention in drowning cases, is aimed to be more commonly used in the coming period.
