After the US lifted the arms embargo against the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus (GKRY) for the 2023 fiscal year, it will now train Greek Cypriot soldiers.

Greek Defense Minister Haralambos Petridis said that they were very pleased to be included in the training and cooperation program. “An important step has been taken to deepen strategic cooperation with the American army. Our cooperation will constantly develop,” he said.
