According to TIM report Turkey’s ship and yacht exports double

According to data provided by TIM (Turkish Exporters Assembly) exports realized by the ship and yacht industry reached USD 903 million 961 thousand in the first 8 months of the year. 69.5 percent of exports by this sector was realized by establishment in Istanbul.

According to Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) data, amount of exports realized by the ship and yacht sector, which was USD 449 million 434 thousand in January-August period of 2016, reached 903 million 961 thousand dollars in the same period of this year. Thus the sector has doubled its export performance with an increase of 100.9 percent.

Istanbul region realized USD 628 million 650 thousand of the exports made by the industry in the first 8 months of the year, corresponding to 69.5 percent of the sector’s total exports. After Istanbul, the cities that realized the largest export figures in the sector were Yalova with USD 190 million 340,1 thousand dollars, Izmir with USD 43 million 424,9 thousand and Kocaeli with USD 19 million 723,3 thousand.

Malta was recorded as the largest export market for the industry in the first 8 months with an amount of USD 146 million 962,3 thousand totaling up to 16.3 percent of the total exports value of the industry for said period, followed by Norway with USD 130 million 155.5 thousand and Iceland with USD 126 million 452.9.
