AFAD warns of ‘heavy rainfall’ for nine provinces

A strong rainfall warning was issued from the “Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate” (AFAD) for Ankara, Denizli, Burdur, Isparta, Afyonkarahisar, Uşak, Aydın, Muğla and Antalya. It was noted that rain would be effective from noon on Sunday.

“According to information received from the General Directorate of Meteorology, from noon on Sunday, strong local precipitation is expected throughout the province of Ankara, in the Denizli, Burdur, Isparta, Afyonkarahisar and Usak areas, as well as in the interior of Aydin, Mugla and Antalya,” AFAD said in a statement.

Critical warning for Ankara

Showers and thunderstorms are also predicted to be strong locally throughout Ankara from noon tomorrow.

The statement asked to be careful and cautious against such negative events as sudden floods, floods, lightning, local hail, strong winds at the time of precipitation and transportation disruptions.
