Airbus preparing to lay off 15 thousand employees due to pandemic crisis

It is reported that European Airbus, one of the leaders in aviation industry which is among sectors most affected by the corona virus outbreak, will lay off nearly 15 thousand employees. A statement by the company stressed that the company, which is struggling to survive the corona virus outbreak, would have to remove workers.

It is also reported that the dismissal process for about 900 employees from the company’s office and production facilities in Germany has been started and this figure could go up to 15 thousand.

Airbus is expected to lay off 5 thousand people in France, 5100 in Germany, 900 in Spain, 1700 in the UK and 1300 scattered across other countries.

Airbus, which is expected to sit at the table with unions for layoffs, will propose a deal to unions for the period until 2021. (SZ)
