AK Party deputy says: We have to lick big brother Tayyip’s shoe with our hands

AKP ORDU Deputy Senel YEDIYILDIZ,  got carried away on a television program saying “We need to lick brother Tayyip’s shoes with our hands (??)” and was on the agenda of social media. Later, the deputy said it was a ’local expression’.

The deputy praised President Tayyip Erdogan in the program on TV52, and one of his statements drew particular attention: “We need to carry Big Brother Tayyip on our backs, let alone betrayal. We have to lick his shoe with our hands.” (hands sounds awkward, obviously)

Speaking to Caner Taşpınar from Oda TV later, the deputy clarified this statement: “I have made these statements on a local television, and the statements I have spoken are local sayings. They are expressions that people use easily in our region. There is no insult to anyone behind this statement.”

He went on to say, “A number of events were described before this speech, this local expression was used because he stood upright, leading the Republic of Turkey. In our region, these expressions are normal, they are used. There is absolutely no intention that to achieve something, using this expression”
