Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati argued that the Turkish Lira should depreciate in order for exports to increase. Speaking on the program on Channel 7, Nebati argued that the value of the TL should fall for imports and to prevent unemployment, but the ‘optimal’ (optimal) level should be maintained.

Some remanrks from Nebati’s explanations were as follows;

*Now, since 2017, the Turkish lira has steadily depreciated against the dollar, so we need to look at it in terms of real value. When you compare between the Turkish Lira and the dollar in Turkey, the Turkish Lira reached its most valuable point in 2013, that is, it reached a strength over 110 percent on the CPI index. What does this mean: It means the more valuable the Turkish lira is, the more imports you can realize from abroad.

There is no need for you to produce in Turkey, because your money is very valuable. With the things you bring in, you slow down the investment industry, stop it, and over time you will face a result such as unemployment.
