In its 20-year rule, the AKP has disposed of “almost” all domestic and national/public factories established by the 99-year-old republic. Companies, factories, ports, hotels, energy facilities were sold one by one. Looking at the picture currently, we have precious assets such as heaven like bays, green areas as well as agricultural lands and it seems that it is their turn to be sold, now.

The AK Party government which has been in power since 2002, has signed an unprecedented privatization application in the history of Turkey, and has sold “almost” everything that the Republic has gained and accumulated (under the scope of privatization).

Kemal UNAKITAN, the first Finance Minister of the AKP government, had said at the time: “We will sell, we will sell. We’ll sell everything. We will sell those that are at loss as well as those that make profit. We will sell until we free the state from economic activities.”

The AKP government did what it said and sold Turkey’s largest companies, factories, hotels, ports, power generation facilities, electricity and natural gas distribution networks and land to local and foreign private companies.

273 ESTABLISHMENTS SOLD AFTER AK PARTY CAME TO POWER

Since 2002, stock or asset sales-transfer transactions have been made in 273 organizations. In 268 of these organizations, there is no public share left. While 8 billion dollars of privatization was made from 1986 to the period when the AKP came to power, a total of 63 billion dollars of sales were made from 2002 to the present.

The whole list of the assets and companies that were transferred as a block in the AKP government or through the sale of shares is available on link below:
