ALACATI is a neighborhood of CESME, one of the popular holiday centers in Izmir region. During the last decade it has certainly become one of the most preferred holiday destinations in the region, leaving Çeşme behind. There are many reasons why one should definitely visit ALACATI such as the famous “Herb Festival”, lively entertainment life, concept boutique hotels, untouched beaches, surf schools, narrow stone streets, and local delicacies and cafes.

When you are in ALACATI you will see streets with their stone structures reflecting the architecture of the past period, just like an Aegean town would look like. The streets, lined with stone structures accompanied by bougainvillea, are home to colorful spaces.

Shops selling souvenirs, design workshops, boutiques, bakeries, cafes and restaurants add so much flavor and personality to the lovely scenery.

After it started to get popular in about 2 decades ago, many hotels and motels opened in the neighborhood and now Alaçatı is home to more than two hundred boutique hotels. With a small number of rooms each, these hotels offer a different concept and are impressive with their design and feel. One can stay in one of those boutique hotels that guarantee energy and happiness at the beginning of the day with very rich breakfast tables.

Alaçatı is one of the most beautiful places to experience the flavors of this culture. It is enough to sit in one of the dozens of places in Alaçatı for the olive oil, appetizers and seafood that entices the taste lovers in particular and leave the rest to the place. KUMRU (sandwich), the famous flavor of Izmir is also one of the popular foods of Alaçatı. Served with sausage, tulum cheese, tomato and pickles between dove bread made from chickpea yeast, this flavor must be tried in Alaçatı.

Contrary to what many people think, there is no place to go for swimming in the center of Alaçatı. It has two different coastlines in the north and South. You can reach the most famous beaches of the region by going in the direction you want in a short period of 10-15 minutes from the center of Alaçatı. ILICA public beach and more than 10 beach clubs are frequently preferred around this area.

The beaches of Delikoy and Cleopatra have become increasingly popular in recent years with the preference of young people from Izmir looking for alternative places.

Alaçatı port, on the other hand, is home to some of the world’s most popular surfing schools.

Nights in Alaçatı are as colorful as days in the neighborhood. A truly enjoyable life goes on in entertainment venues and taverns after dark. Fish and meze restaurants as well as concept cafes catering to all tastes can be found in different options ranging from delicious cocktails to soft drinks.
