The artist was born in Istanbul in 1938 as the daughter of historian, journalist and writer Ziyad Ebuzziya and his wife Vala Ebuzziya.

in 1955, a year after completing her secondary education in England, she studied sculpture at the Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts, now known as Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Here she became a student of Füreya Koral. She went to Germany in 1958. On the one hand, while working at the Höhr-Grenzhausen ceramic factories, on the other hand, she conducted research on the compositions of ceramic mud. Two years later, in 1960, she returned to her homeland and worked as a designer at the Eczacıbaşı ceramic factory until 1962.

In 1963, she went to Denmark as a designer at the Royal Copenhagen porcelain factory (Royal Danish Porcelain Factories). In 1969, she founded her own ceramics workshop in Copenhagen.

Alev Ebuzziya, who has been living in Paris since 1987, designed for the German Rosenthal Porcelain Factories from 1975 to 1990. From 1984 to 2000, she designed products for the Royal Copenhagen brand.

Alev Ebuzziya Siesbye was elected a member of the Royal Danish Academy in 1981. In 1986, she represented Denmark at the International Art Exhibition in Paris. Ebuzziya received the Tagea Brant Award in 1982 and was awarded the Eckersberg Medal in 1983.

Her works are exhibited in the world’s leading museums such as the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Bellerive Museum in Zurich, the Cooper Hewit Museum in New York, the Ulster Museum in Belfast and the Ankara State Museum of Painting and Sculpture.
