Ankara Mayor YAVAS to provide cash and food aid to those unemployed due to corona

Mansur YAVAS, Metropolitan Mayor of Ankara has been closely monitored by the public and in fact has received a lot of praise so far due to his performance. It is now reported that Mansur YAVAS has decided to provide assistance to citizens unemployed due to coronavirus epidemic via cash and food support.

The corona virus which started in China and affected the world had also appeared in Turkey after affecting millions of people in Europe. Recently, the government warned citizens not to take to the streets unless they had to which was criticized by many opinion leaders and experts believing a curfew would be necessary to fight the epidemic.

While responsible citizens who heeded the warning did not take to the streets, some had to go to work to continue their lives. Some businesses closed their shops, putting their employees on unpaid leave.

Thousands of citizens who were placed on unpaid leave have been victimized by the corona outbreak because they were not able to provide any other income.

Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, on the other hand, took action to address this grievance and announced that food and cash assistance would be provided to unemployed citizens.
