Ankara Metropolitan Municipality sends 500 trucks of aid materials to earthquake region

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality sent 500 trucks of aid materials to the region to help the victims of the earthquake of the century.

According to the statement made by the Metropolitan Municipality, the products brought to the main collection centers through the ANFA chiefs located in 28 regions throughout the city and the collection centers established at various points were separated with the cooperation of volunteers and sent to 10 cities that suffered from the earthquake.

The earthquake is referred to the biggests disaster Turkey has seen in last 100 years a sit was very wide spread and had a terrible impact in 10 cities of the country. Although the teams and other establishments under government control tried their best after they were transported to the zone, the administration received tough criticism for not being able to act faster and in particular not assigning the army to get actively involved in search and rescue efforts, starting the first day. It is noted that if it had been the other way round with army in the area, many more lives under the wreckage could have been saved.
