Approval issued for an 18-storey hotel in earthquake zone in Turkey
Construction is continuing at full speed in the provinces affected by the Kahramanmaraş-based earthquakes. Approval was given to the 18-storey hotel project in Gaziantep. The company obtained “ÇED” (Environmental Impact Assessment) is not required report for the project. The 24-storey hotel project to be built in Şanlıurfa is also waiting for the EIA (ÇED) process.
After the devastating earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, although the government says that they will continue with horizontal architecture, vertical architectural structures are given approval one by one.
“Cumhuriyet Newspaper” had previously reported that the 11-storey project had been approved in Şanlıurfa, while the 24- and 18-storey projects were waiting in line. The 18-storey hotel project in Gaziantep was approved recently. The company applied to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanism and Climate Change and received the report “Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is not required” from the Gaziantep Governorship.
HOTEL PROJECT IN SAHINTEPE DISTRICT
A construction company made the EIA application in June for a hotel project in Şahintepe district of Gaziantep. After the examination of the application file, about a month later, the decision “EIA is not required” was obtained for the project.
With this decision, the hotel project, which will consist of a total of 21 floors, including 2 basement floors, 1 ground floor and 18 normal floors, will be realized in Gaziantep, which is one of the earthquake zones. The project, which is planned to have 238 rooms, will include a large hall for 450 people, a small hall for 50 people and similar social areas.
ANOTHER PROJECT WITH 24 STOREYS WAITING FOR APPROVAL
The EIA process was initiated in recent months for the 24-storey hotel project planned to be built by another construction company in Şanlıurfa. If the project worth 402 Million 931 thousand TL is approved, a 248-room hotel will be built in the region. This hotel was also planned as 2 floors below ground, 24 floors above ground floor, mezzanine floor and mezzanine floor plus terrace.
