Authority introduces 84 percent increase in natural gas service prices

CHP deputy said natural gas service price had been increased by 84 percent reacting to this price hike to be applied in 2023, in his post on Twitter.

Oztrak noted following: “We had woken up to 2022 with exorbitant electricity and natural gas hikes. We are entering 2023 with an exorbitant natural gas service fee hike. Before the arrival of 2023, there was an 84 percent increase in natural gas service prices.”

According to the Energy Market Regulatory Board’s (EMRA) decision published in the Official Gazette dated December 24, 2022; The upper limit on the subscription connection price of natural gas distribution companies was set at 2 thousand 135 liras, effective from January 1. It was decided that the assurance fee would be one thousand 352 TL for the boiler and the prepaid meter change fee would be 684 TL.

THE MINISTER HAD SAID “NO RAISE”

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez, natural gas and electricity will not be increased in January, saying the following statement: “They are working on the issue now, according to initial assessments, there will be no hike at the beginning of the year. We will announce the calendar in a short time, God willing. We also do not foresee a hike in electricity at the moment.”
