BICYCLE ALLOWED ON TRAINS IN TURKEY

Bicycles will be transported free of charge on trains in cooperation with the General Directorate of State Railways of the Republic of Turkey (TCDD) and the Turkish Bicycle Federation. The Cycling Federation has signed an agreement with TCDD in this regard.

It was allowed to transport bicycles on long-route (YHT main route) and short-route (regional, suburban-Marmaray) trains.

President of the Turkish Bicycle Federation, said, “We are grateful to the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey and the General Directorate of State Railways (TCDD) and the General Directorate of Transport of the Republic of Turkey who have supported our struggle for the popularization and acceptance of the bicycle.

Bicycles, small hand luggage will be accepted with passengers on suburban and Marmaray trains except for Sundays and national holidays, except during peak hours, and there will be no additional charge for transportation.

On YHTs, bicycles that can be folded to fit in the compartment reserved for hand luggage will be accepted as small hand luggage and transported for free.
