OZLEM TURECI SAYS THIRD DOSE CORONA LIKELY

Özlem Türeci, who appeared on CNBC, shared some details about people getting the corona virus vaccine. Türeci who is the company’s executive vice president in the medical field, also sparked the “third dose of corona virus vaccine” debate raised by Pfizer’s chief executive Albert Bourla in recent weeks.

She Said, “After vaccination, immunity to the virus decreases over time. In humans, immunity drops after a while following vaccination or after getting sick. So it will have to be annual vaccinations, just like with seasonal flu.”

She added that the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine the company developed might become necessary.“Mutation of the corona virus is also normal” Türeci said, adding that mutating the virus is a natural process. For us, this situation was not a surprise.”

THERE WAS A STRONG RESPONSE FROM THE UNITED STATES

Dr. Anthony Fauci Senior, senior health adviser to US President Joe Biden, had recently made a very clear and harsh statement about the third-dose vaccine debate, which pharmaceutical and biotech companies had often voiced.

“It’s a PUBLIC HEALTH DECISION for people to decide whether to get vaccinated or not, ” Fauci had said. “This is not a decision for pharmaceutical companies. We partner with them because they provide us with the vaccine. This decision will be made by the Food and Drug Agency and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Those who have two doses of the vaccine will need to have a third dose of the vaccine within a year” Albert Bourla, Pfizer’s chief executive had said in April. Similarly, one of Moderna’s top executives, Corinne M. Le Goff also said at a meeting with investors last week that a dose of the vaccine to support, would be introduced next year.
