BOTAS announces new giant hike for natural gas
Another giant hike in natural gas has been announced by BOTAS. Accordingly the sale price of natural gas used for electricity generation was increased by 44.30 percent, the sale price of natural gas used for electricity generation was increased by 50 percent and the sale price of natural gas used for residential buildings was increased by 35 percent.
The Joint Stock Company for Transporting Oil by Pipelines (BOTAŞ) has announced the wholesale price tariff for natural gas for the month of April 2022 on its website. The following statements were made in the announcement:
”GAS IS SUPPLIED FROM FOREIGN SUPPLY SOURCES”
The company has noted that natural gas is an imported energy source, more than 99% of which is obtained from foreign sources of supply in accordance with international agreements. The statement has also shared that concerned high prices have not been reflected in the same proportion to our consumers.
STATE CONTRIBUTION
The statement also noted despite the increasing costs, consumers had been provided with 76% support by the administration during said period.
