REFUGEE AGREEMENT UK AND TURKEY

The UK has announced an agreement with Turkey to “crack down on smuggler networks” as part of the fight against illegal migration. It was reported that data sharing between the two countries will be strengthened within the scope of the agreement.

British Home Secretary Suella Braverman said: “We must do everything we can to crack down on smuggling networks and stop the boats. Our partnership with Turkey will enable our services to work together on this international problem.”

This agreement for irregular migration using Turkey as a transit point also includes the creation of a center within the Turkish Security Organization with the support of London, which will facilitate the sharing of migrant data in particular.

The aim of this new center in Turkey is to strengthen the cooperation between the British National Crime Agency and British intelligence teams based in Turkey and their Turkish counterparts and especially to decelerate illegal migration to Europe.

MIGRATION MINISTER DID NOT DISCLOSE HOW MUCH WILL BE PAID TO TURKEY

The British government has given priority to the fight against illegal immigration, one year before the elections that will be decisive for the ruling Conservative Party. British Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick declined to say how much London would pay Turkey under the agreement. Jenrick told GB News, “It’s not just about the money. It’s mainly about intelligence and information sharing.”
