British tour operator and Airline Company Jet2 and Jet2Holidays have announced their balance sheet for the first half of 2019. The company which also flies to and sells holidays in Turkey made a profit of 340 million sterling pounds before tax corresponding to 2 percent increase compared to same period last year.

Jet2Holidays increased the number of package tour passengers by 17 percent in the 6-month period to 2 million 710 thousand. During the same period, the revenue generated by the companies (Jet2 and Jet2Holidays) from holiday trips increased by 17 percent to 2.5 billion sterling pounds, while the number of passengers carried by the airline Jet2 increased by 8 percent to 4 million 750 thousand.

Philip MEESON, chairman of Dart Group which owns both companies, said that the increase in pre-tax profit stemmed from the recent increase in customer demand. He also underlined the need for a ‘balanced’ Brexit agreement to maintain rising customer demand.
