Call from AK Party deputy to Erdoğan: ‘For the love of God, stop this cruelty’

Şamil Tayyar, a member of the AKP (Justice and Development Party), has made a public appeal to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the widespread reports of “dog massacres” across the country. Tayyar expressed his concerns, stating, “Even though the law does not foresee such cruelty, it has activated lowlifes with murderous spirits.”

Following the passing of a law widely known in the public as the “massacre law,” images and videos of killed and poisoned dogs from many cities across the country have surfaced. While citizens have been expressing their outrage towards the government, AKP’s Şamil Tayyar also joined in the criticism.

Addressing President Erdoğan, Tayyar said, “Even though the law does not foresee such cruelty, it has activated lowlifes with murderous spirits. For the love of God, stop this oppression. One word from you is enough.”

Tayyar’s post on his X account (formerly Twitter) is as follows:

“Dear Mr. President,

Dog hunting has started in every corner of the country.

In places like Niğde, Bartın, Altındağ, Ahlat, and Silivri, dogs are being brutally killed without adhering to any rules.

The images of poisoned dogs dying in agony are heartbreaking.

It is impossible not to cry when seeing the image of a dog, whose body was riddled with 20 bullets, turning it into a target.

Words fail to describe the sight of dogs whose heads are severed, with their remains discarded in bags in landfills.

And there are many more.

I did not share the images because I couldn’t bear it.

Even though the law does not foresee such cruelty, it has activated lowlifes with murderous spirits.

For the love of God, stop this oppression.One word from you is enough.”
