The CEO of Fun & Sun Club has stated that the biggest problem in the tourism sector is the shortage of personnel. Volkan Şimşek, speaking to media stated that they were planning to close the personnel gap in the 2022 season with the personnel they would bring from Uzbekistan and other countries, as well as from Africa.

“We are having difficulty finding employees”

Noting that the staff gap in the tourism sector should be filled as soon as possible, Mr. Simsek suggested that the number of staff trained in tourism schools did not meet the needs of the sector. Şimşek said, “The biggest staff shortage in hotels is experienced in the departments of house keeping, bellboy, waiter, busboy, stewart etc. There are very serious gaps. We’re having trouble finding people. Due to the pandemic, we have been supplying the staff vacancy from countries with poor economic situation such as Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan for the last two years. We aim to close the personnel gap in the sector with personnel coming from Africa. It seems that we will close the staffing gap in the sector with employees coming from Africa in 2022.”
