CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairperson: Presidential election will end in the first round

CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairperson Ms. Canan KAFTANCIOGLU said that she did not like to make strong (ambitious) statements, but they (opposition) would win the presidential election in the first round.

Although the polls published after the announcement of the nation alliance candidate show CHP leader Kemal KILICDAROGLU ahead of President Tayyip ERDOGAN, there is a high probability that the election will go to the second round in the multi-candidate scenario.

For this reason, there is serious pressure from the opposition for Muharrem INCE  (former CHP deputy and presidential candidate in 2018) to withdraw from the candidacy. The concern here is that Ince may split the votes of the opposition and therefore Erdogan may win in the second round with some anti-democratic steps.

So far, Ince has rejected this request. Despite this picture, CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairperson Canan KAFTANCIOGLU is ambitious that the election will end in the first round.

KAFTANCIOGLU who announced this claim on his Twitter account by saying, “Exact information, you can spread it,” also noted the following: “I don’t like to use ambitious/assertive words, but I’m not afraid to do ambitious things either. With this view, I would like to make a realistic observation rather than a claim. The election may end in the 1st round and you will see it will. No matter what evil (mischief) those in power do, it cannot and will not change this result. Because the majority of the people want it, and no matter who says it, the result will not change.
