Consumer confidence falls to historic levels in June

CONSUMER CONFIDENCE INDEX TURKEY

The consumer confidence index fell 6.2 percent month-on-month in June and to historic levels on an index basis.

The consumer confidence index, which is adjusted for seasonal effects calculated from the results of the consumer trend survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, decreased by 6.2 percent compared to the previous month; the index which was 67.6 in May became 63.4 in June.

For the consumer confidence index, these levels mean the lowest levels seen since the index began to be calculated. The previous historical bottom was seen with 67.3 points last April (calculation is made over 200).
