Downpour in Samsun causes flood leading to major damage in town

A downpour was effective towards the morning in Samsun. Streams overflowed, roads turned into lakes, some houses and businesses were flooded, vehicles were left under a collapsed wall. Schools were closed for a day.

The roads were covered with water at the Canik district Belediye Evleri Junction. Drivers in the area had difficulty moving forward with their vehicles. Due to the downpour, streams overflowed; some homes and businesses were flooded. Teams have started working against flooding.

VEHICLES LEFT ON ROADS DUE TO FLOODING

Due to heavy rainfall, some vehicles were left on the road due to flooding at the Samsun – Ankara land route bus station. Vehicles had difficulty moving due to flood waters on the Canik Belediyeevleri Neighborhood ring road. Some vehicles remained on the road in the direction of Ordu in the KIRAZLIK region, a landslide occurred.

Due to the flood caused by precipitation, many business places were flooded in the Gulsan Industrial Estate, and the streets were filled with water.

Some citizens used boots on the street, which was filled with water. Citizens tried to evacuate flood water from their workplaces by their own means.
