The president of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who is one of the most trusted names of Americans and has recently been on the agenda due to discussions with Trump said, “Provided all goes well, the first doses of a safe and effective vaccine can be made to people in the high-risk group by end of November or beginning January.

He went on to say “Even in the presence of an effective vaccine that protects against the virus, immunity will take time at a national and global level” and noted that Moderna and Pfizer would find out in December whether a safe vaccine would be available based on their modeling. He also added that in any case, it would take a long time to get closer to normal.
