GASOLINE PRICES TURKEY

The sharp decline in the dollar/TL exchange rate on December 20 caused the eyes to be turned to labels and prices, but there was no serious reduction in prices. Fuel prices, which were raised almost every day during the historic rise of the dollar, did not change despite the fact that the dollar exchange rate fell from 18 to 11.

The very sharp exchange rate decline did not cause a downward movement in gasoline, diesel and LPG prices which had increased almost every day in past weeks depending on the dollar. Gasoline was discounted by 1.63 TL and diesel by 1.65 TL, but the discounts made after the decrease in the exchange rate went to the tax and were not reflected in the pump prices.

A liter of gasoline is sold on average from 11.61 TL in Istanbul, from 11.69 TL in Ankara, and from 11.71 TL in Izmir. On the other hand, diesel prices are sold on average from 11.48 TL in Istanbul, 11.57 TL in Ankara, and 11.58 TL in Izmir.
