During the Ramadan Holiday, around 20 million travels are expected

Firuz Bağlıkaya, the President of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), stated that extending the holiday to 9 days would stimulate the domestic market, saying, “We anticipate that the economic volume of all travels during the midterm break and the holiday period will reach around 100 billion Turkish liras.”
Bağlıkaya emphasized the significance of extending the holiday to 9 days for the sector, highlighting that the early decision would enable citizens and travel agencies to make plans. He stated that the decision would further invigorate the domestic market, saying, “A strong domestic tourism movement plays an extremely important role in the development of our sector and country. Our travel agencies have prepared tours to many cultural destinations and for every budget. During the period when the holiday and the school midterm break coincide, we invite our citizens to vacation all around our country.”
Bağlıkaya noted that the convergence of Ramadan Holiday with the second midterm break starting on April 6th would create significant mobility in the domestic market. He continued, “During this period, including visits to hometowns and relatives, we expect around 20 million travels by our citizens. Around 2 million of these travels will directly contribute to tourism activities. We expect the number of entries to tourism facilities during the holiday to reach around 1.5 million, and when other types of accommodation are added, the number of touristic accommodations is expected to reach 2 million.”
“We anticipate that the economic volume of all travels including visits to hometowns, relatives, and tourism activities during the midterm break and holiday period will reach around 100 billion Turkish liras,” Bağlıkaya added.
