2022 PRICE HIKES IN ALL ITEMS IN TURKEY

Turkey starts the new-year with both hikes on products such as gasoline (and alike) due to the impact of the depreciation in TL and taxes, fees and penalties increased by the revaluation rate of 36.2 percent. Yesterday, a number of edits appeared in the Official Gazette on this issue again.

In this context, for example, motor vehicle owners who do not have exhaust gas emission measurements starting from January 1 will pay a fine of TL 2,815.

The penalty for polluting the environment in any way in public places was set at TL 1362

According to previous statements, MTV (Motor Vehicle Tax) had increased by 25 percent from TL 1372 to TL 1715 for 1301-1600 cc. Passport fee for 4-10 years also increased by 36.2 percent, increasing from TL 1008 to TL 1478.

According to the calculation made from the tariff tables in the Official Gazette, electricity tariffs increased by an average of 52 percent to 130 percent, including taxes and funds for residential, industrial and commercial subscriber groups.

Natural gas used in residential buildings was increased by 25 percent. The sales price of natural gas used by power generation plants increased by 15 percent, and the price of natural gas used in industry increased by 50 percent.

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced the hikes on bridges in Istanbul, which will be effective from January 1.

In the announcement made by the Ministry, one-way car toll on the Bosphorus Bridges is set at 8.25 TL. Bridge tolls have been divided into two equal parts and changed to two-way tolls starting January 1. For the Eurasia Tunnel, the toll was set at TL 53 in one direction between 05:00 and 24:00 and TL 26.50 at a 50 percent discount between 00:00 and 05:00.”

On the other hand, the “Energy Oil and Gas Supply Stations Employers’ Union” (EPGIS) announced 1.29 lira hike in diesel, 61 kurus in gasoline and 78 cents in LPG effective from midnight tonight
