New taxi tariff with increased fares enters into force in Istanbul

In accordance with the decision taken by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME), an increase of 36 percent in electronic ticket, taxi, taxi and minibus fares and 27 percent in shuttle fares has been implemented as of today.

After the 36 percent increase in the taxi opening fee in Istanbul, taxi drivers queued at designated points to update their taximeters according to the new tariff. As of today, the short-distance taxi fare in Istanbul has become 20 liras.

Based on the decision taken by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), Transport Coordination Center (UKOME), in the extraordinary meeting in December, taxi opening fees were increased from from 5.55 TL to 7 TL, and short distance fare was increased from 14,50 to 20, and per kilometer fare was increased to 0,45 TL per km from  0.34 TL. Waiting fee was upgraded from 0,53 0.80.
