As the early election discussions continue, a new date is being announced in Ankara. Accordingly, April 16 has begun to gain weight among the dates that the opposition expects an early election to be held on, in 2023.

Even if the date of the election, which is said to be held in June, is planned to be brought forward, a date after April 6 should be determined in order for the ‘election law’ prepared by the AKP and MHP to be valid.

On the other hand, discussions are also being held that the election should be brought forward due to the ‘two-term’ rule in order for President Tayyip Erdogan to officially run again. Based on such discussions a date between April 6 and June 18 seems to be most likely alternative, if the election date is to be pulled forward.

However, the fact that the OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) has set the calendar of the YKS exam as June 17-18 has fueled the discussions about the date of the election, even more.

On the other hand, according to the opposition’s opinion on this issue, there is a strong possibility that May, or even the day before the start of Ramadan, will start. The date of April 16 stands out here.
