EasyJet cancels more than 200 flights
The British budget airline EASYJET has canceled more than 200 flights planned to be operated over the weekend and on Monday due to staff shortages. The company attributed the staff shortage to Covid-19 infections.
“As a result of the high infection rates across Europe, as with all other businesses, the case numbers are well above normal at easyJet” said an easyJet spokesman, explaining the cancellations coming during the peak travel demand period before Easter and school holidays – adding “That’s why we have to make additional cancellations for today and tomorrow.”
The statement noted that customers could change the date of their reservation or receive a coupon or refund.
